Accident and Critical Illness are precarious events in life that not only disrupt the flow of life, but cause financial drain. To help in easing financial burden, indemnities covering accident and critical illness are offered for scope and extent of damaging instances, and are paid upon occurrence.
There are three categories of policies offered by The IHC Group/Independence American Insurance Company briefly described below:
Accident, Critical Illness, AD &D and Disability Income
There are seven policies, designated under Accident Independence Accident Insurance. The coverage of benefits are:
- Accident Medical Expense in the range of $2,500 to $15,000.
- Critical Illness benefits in range of $2,500 to $25,000.
- Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) of $25,000.
- Critical Illness coverage for child $2,500 to $10,000.
- Accident Disability Income of $500 for six policies with exception of one policy.
Selection of benefits can be done by combination of choices to customize a policy.
Critical Illness Insurance
There are five indemnity policies, which are dedicated to Critical Illness coverage in a range of $20,000 to $100,000 in steps of $20,000 for the primary insured and $10,000 for a Child. The Critical Illnesses are defined in three categories:
- Category I: Invasive Cancer, Cancer in Situ,
- Category II: Heart Attack, Stroke, Major Organ Failure, Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery, and
- Category III: Major Organ Failure, End-Stage Renal Disease, Severe Burn, Coma, and Paralysis.
Accident Medical Expense, AD&D and Critical Illness Rider (Metal Gap2 policies)
There are four policies offering following benefits for the primary insured:
- Accident Medical Expense in the range of $2,500 to $10,000 in steps of $2,500
- Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) in the range of $2,500 to $10,000 in steps of $2,500
- Critical Illness in the range of $2,500 to $10,000 in steps of $2,500.
In addition, there is Critical Illness coverage of $2,500 benefit for a child.
Selection of benefits can be done by combination of choices to customize a policy.
How to Access
Follow these steps below to sift through and select the policy you need:

Eligibility
Applicant must be between 18 years to 64.5 years of age, and permanent or legal resident of the United States. Eligible dependents include your lawful spouse/domestic partner under age of 64.5, and children up to age 26 are eligible. It is a guarantee issue plan, meaning you cannot be turned down for coverage based on your health history.

These plans come with nationwide network of healthcare providers who offer you discounted medical costs and out-of-pocket expenses. It is significant to use providers in the networks to get discounted services and processing of your medical claims the Insurance. Reach out to following network of providers to search for providers.
