Short Term Medical plans are not compliant with ACA standards of major medical plans. Customer should
familiarize with restrictions, limitations, exclusions and disqualifying conditions.
Supplemental Medical Plans are independent products designed to reduce personally owed medical bills. These
can be added to ACA plans, Short Term Medical plans, or purchased as standalones. The illustrative example shows
how to reduce financial risks of medical bills.
The illustrative example assumes a 35 years person living in a selected Zip Code in Florida and draws comparative
numbers of Costs vs. Benefits at certain durations of hospital stays. Hospital bills shown in example are based on
assumed In-Network providers’ (PPO) negotiated or contracted rates with Insurance Company, discounted by
Insurance Company (adjustments) and shared for payment to providers based on patient’s insurance policy.
The illustration focuses on effective costs for hospitalization between ACA and Short Term Medical plans with
subsidy of Medical Supplemental ‘Care Access Plan’ having feature of $1,000/day ($2,000 and $3,000 per day are
available) of hospitalization stay for unlimited number of days. Surgical benefit of $2,000 per surgery is not
included.
