What is Hospital Guard GI

Unlike a regular health insurance plan, which have benefits to cover medical treatment, insurance industry has evolved plans and indemnities specific to occurrence of certain event(s) for monetary compensation to reduce or offset financial risks.

UnitedHealthcare® offers two indemnity plan related to Inpatient Hospital Confinement and ICU Confinement plans.

Following are the outlines of benefits at different benefits levels depends upon the plan you select:

Hospital Guard GI Plan A:

• Inpatient Hospital Confinement: $500 per day to maximum of 31 days per period of Confinement.
• ICU Confinement: $1,000 per day to maximum 31 days per period of Confinement.
• First Hospital day benefit at $1,000 in addition to above, (Maximum 1 day per calendar year.)
• Premium: $19.81 per month.

Hospital Guard GI Plan B:

• Inpatient Hospital Confinement: $700 per day to maximum of 31 days per period of Confinement.
• ICU Confinement: $1,500 per day to maximum 31 days per period of Confinement.
• First Hospital day benefit at $1,500 in addition to above, (Maximum 1 day per calendar year.)
• Premium: $39.36 per month.

Eligibility

• Age: between 18 – 64 for primary applicant and spouse at the time of application. Children 0-25 are eligible. 
• Exclusions and/or Limitations: Listed in brochures.
• Preexisting conditions: Defined in the brochures.
• Underwriting: All these plans are subject to medical underwriting.
